The big shopping center in Anchorage is full of stuffed wildlife. They’re supposed to be part of an Alaskan nature theme, but they kind of just make me sad, even though I’m not against hunting or eating meat or anything like that. It just seems out of place.
Also, they’re not lit properly. They reflect against the glass and are hard to see. At the right angle, they almost look transparent, like lumbering manitou trying to figure out where they are and how they got there. Or like badly lit taxidermy. Either way, I can relate.
